Cambodia

Cambodia was an incredible country. It touched my heart in many ways. Here are some thoughts.
The air-sweet smelling like flowers
The light-felt like Italian or San Diego warm light
The sounds-mystical, magical, and calming
The foods-sort of like Thai food
The people-poor, hard-working, kind

I stayed in Siem Reap for 5 days visiting various places in and around the city. I will write more about what I saw and what impressions were made upon my heart and brain.

The Bear Climbed over the Mountain

The city lights turned on as we hiked down the mountain.
The sunset was lovely.
Shadows at night.
The pit stop.

Flying.
The city down the hill.
Going up.
Off the concrete path.
Nothing like a green hill.
Wisps in the sky.
Our bikes with the cars.

Honey sticks from Pike Place.

Saturday took a long drive out to the tallest mountain in Hong Kong. Drove up Twisk Road and hiked to the top of the mountain. It was a beautiful view. We could see all of Hong Kong, Kowloon and into China. Enjoyed honey sticks from WA and Deer jerkey from Pennsylvania. The sun was setting on the way down and we got to see the city lights come on.

Clear Water Bay and Sai Kun at Night

A little bike that was deserted by the water.

Boats of Sai Kun.
Lanterns-it was just after the mid-autumn festival.
I'm hoping he'll turn into prince charming.:)
The full moon-mid-autumn moon.

Yes I love my Vespa!

So I'm an official Vespa rider. My friend Keena showed me how to get out to Clear Water Bay Beach. It was a lovely drive and the water was wonderful. So fun to ride out to a beach and and jump in the water. The water is so warm to swim in. Then we drove out to Sai Kun for dinner and walked around, looking at sea food, boats and the marvelous full moon.

Walking Around Ladies Street

Tuesday night my friend Keena and I wandered around Ladies Street in Mong Kok. Almost anything you want you can buy in these little markets. We went to the China Travel Visa Services to get our China visas. Then ate dinner and saw a movie. On our way back to our bikes we ran into this monster of a bike and had fun posing with it.

A Night at the Peak

The same day I went to Cheung Chau I drove up to the Peak with my friend Keena. She's been awesome to show me the roads of HK. It was a lovely night; full moon, perfect temperature. At the Peak I got some amazing ice cream; bailys and cappuccinno flavors. Yum!

Cheung Chau

So for the Mid Autumn Festival I had a holiday. I went to Cheung Chau Island with my two buddies. It was my first ride on my vespa over to Central on HK Island to catch the Star Ferry to an outlying island. The island was so relaxing; only foot traffic or bicycles. We wandered the streets shopping and watching people. Went for a swim in the water. I had some yummy fresh made potato chips. They were amazing. It was a great, relaxing holiday.
